DIY: Spike and Chain Headband

Ever since I cut my hair I'm addicted to these beauties. It's easy, inexpensive and a different look for every occasion.  So I thought about doing a DIY to share with you.

You will need
Elastic
Needle & thread
Ribbons/ Trims/ Chains/ Studs/ Spikes

First up the measurements. Measure your ribbon or chain around your head, line it up and leave a gap of approximately 10 cm open for your elastic.

If you want to embellish your ribbon now is the time. I'm going for a spikey headband. The spikes are 5 cm apart. Make sure you leave at least 6 cm at the ends of your ribbon.

Now for the elastics. Cut the elastic in 16 cm strands and knot it. To cover the knot you need a 2 cm piece of ribbon and hand sew it over the knot. You can also glue it.

Last part. Take your ribbon and hand sew the ends to your elastic.

Et Voila You're done

Idea!

Look around for some old necklaces, ribbons and stones and create a new accessory

DIY: Wool Poncho Vest

This is probably the simplest DIY I evurrr made and you can see it as a basis for your own unique design. It takes some measuring but no glue or sewing.
You can use a different fabric or add leather trims and spice it up. Play with the measurements and make a longer version or if you’re handy with the sewing machine you can even make some sleeves for the vest.

1. You need some fabric, scissors, ruler and a bright crayon
2. For the armholes:
Lay your fabric like on the picture
Now measure 55 cm to the right and 30 cm down
Make a dot with your crayon
From that dot make a 20 cm line downwards and make a second dot.
Make a line from dot one to two.
Now measure from the first dot 40 cm to the right
and do the same for the right armhole.
Cut both lines with your scissors and you have your armholes.
3. Fashionise your garment

I used the same design last year for this poncho and added some faux fur. Let me know what you think and I want to see yours for sure!

Beauty Aspects: Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick Review & Contest

Hi Loves,

I received these lipsticks in the mail from Bourjois in honor of their new line of lipsticks called Rouge Edition. There are 3 themes Preppy, Color Block and Night Out in 18 colors. Preppy has the nude looks, Color Block the hot popping colors and Night Out the sophisticated stylish looks.

I'm not really a lipstick girl more a lipgloss type so we will see how this will turn out.
 Let's test it out!

I have the colors 16. Brun Cosmopolitan & 07. Fuchsia Graffiti of the themes Color Block and Night Out and  No, Not by choice I don't know if I would have chosen these colors out of 18. But I'm up for a challenge. The first one is a dark brown color and the second is shocking pink. I find it very important to think about the whole look, the eyes, the cheeks and even my clothes. For what occasion I can wear this look, because both colors are very bold, work for me will be out of the question. I decided the first one for a dinner date and the pink for a party-hardy look.

First Look dinner date
I will go for the softer nude look and I decided to combine this lipstick with an eye shadow trio in the same brown shades and gold accents. I've finished the look with a thinner eye-liner and nude colored rouge for the cheeks.

After putting on the first lipstick the first thing that popped in mind was the feeling, very soft, like lip balm.   Then the pigment, I only had to put on one stroke and it was enough, of course I'm putting on a second just to make sure.

I also tested the lipstick when I'm eating and drinking. Cuz we wouldn't want your lipstick running after one zip, I mean that isn't cute at all. The results were still good, the only thing was that the shine was gone and the color was more matte.

Second Look Party Hardy!!
Uuh this color on my lips was a big No, with my dark skin the color didn't match at all. So to soften the color I used my concealer after applying the lipstick. And it worked out fine, a tip for when you feel that your lipstick is a little bit to bright for you. For this look I want to keep the focus on the lips, so the eyes are black smokey with an exaggeration on the eyeliner. No blush.

All in All the lipsticks have a good quality for a 12,99 euro. The pigment is rich and the structure creamy, easy to apply. The colors last for hours and not scented, which I prefer.
The only thing I would say is that the brown color is very limited with colors for your eyes and clothes. You need to keep it neutral like black, white hmm I don't no about grey. Nope, no grey. You can wear gold, warmer colors. And no reds. You get the picture right.
The colors are really for those who want to stand out and make a statement. Or to accent your style. But there is also the Preppy line which consists solely of nude color, more work appropriate. Maybe I can try that one out an other time.
I do like the fact that you have a whole range of colors and the price is reasonable, especially for some one who isn't a lipstick fanatic, like myself. You will get the change to try it out without spending to much money.
I'm still doubting which one I like more, which look do you prefer on me?

Ha I almost forgot I cut my hair Again! ahaha not obvious at all.

PS!!!

Bourjois is hosting a Show Us Your Lips competition, the winner will recieve a huge canvas in Bourjois style. I have to be honost with you, I don't think that's enough so I will also personally select 5 girls out of the entries from my readers to recieve their own Rouge Edition Lipstick. Sounds like fun? Check out the rules and make sure you notifie me per mail or comment below for the Rouge Edition lipstick.

Translation: Take a photo of you wearing one of the colors of the Rouge Edition, Upload it on the Bourjois Facebook page. The contest will be till 30th of November.
